Many individuals in our community don’t have consistent access to basic hygiene supplies. Not only are these supplies essential in maintaining personal hygiene, they also keep individuals healthy and give them self-confidence. Volunteer during the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on the morning of January 21, 2019. Come to the Spartanburg campus on your day off to create hygiene kits for individuals experiencing homelessness or financial instability. Kits will be given to individuals experiencing homelessness or financial instability through a variety of nonprofit partners. Each volunteer will participate in a poverty simulation called, “Reality Check: Smartie Money” to learn more about our community’s need and will then assemble four to five kits and write a personalized note of encouragement to be put in each kit. This will be a great opportunity to meet new people and serve with your family or community group.
