For this session of Legacy: Lunch and Learn, we will be focusing on the topic of fall prevention. If you are a caregiver for an older adult, you know that falls can cause injury, anxiety, and a host of other problems. We hope you will join us for this lunchtime session as we debunk the myths surrounding older adult falls, discuss fall prevention basics, and equip you to come up with a fall prevention action plan. This event will take place on December 8 at the Pelham campus.

In a world that offers only toxic or shallow definitions of manhood, we must examine the Scriptures to discover what it truly means to be a man. What does it look like for men to lead and care for the people God has entrusted to them? How can we become men of substance who bless those around us? Our new, eight-week version of Authentic Manhood, which includes an introductory week and seven teaching sessions, will lay a biblical groundwork for men of faith to take responsibility for and move towards those around them, all while depending on God.

Outreach | Puerto Rico Mission Trip : TR Campus Only

The Travelers Rest Campus is sending a team to Puerto Rico! If you are a member with our TR campus, consider joining us for this upcoming mission trip to Puerto Rico and experience God working among the people there! We will serve in-country with our local partner, Hunger Corp, to assist in rebuilding homes that were damaged by hurricanes and an earthquake in recent years. This trip entails long days of construction work; however, no construction experience is necessary. Men and women on this team will need flexibility, as we seek to meet the current needs of our partners. The cost of this trip is $1,300 which includes airfare, lodging, and meals. Regardless of where you find yourself, everyone needs to grow in awareness of what shame is and how it operates. Shame: Finding Freedom will help you learn what shame is, identify the experiences, thoughts, and feelings that cause shame, how it affects you in everyday life, and how to live in the freedom and comfort Christ holds out to you. The divorce support group meets weekly to help participants process all the unique challenges and emotions that come along with divorce and find perspective rooted in Scripture. Outreach | Nicaragua Mission Trip

Consider joining us for our upcoming mission trip to Chinandega, Nicaragua! While in-country, we will continue our work with Nicaraguan partners to lead seminary-style classes for local pastors and leaders, as well as host a medical clinic within the local church’s community. In order for the medical clinic to run efficiently and effectively, many team members with no medical experience are needed, in addition to licensed medical professionals. We are in need of the following team members for this trip: Volunteers that enjoy working with children Non-medical and non-Spanish speaking team members to help patients through the clinic and to handle non-medical tasks such as pulling medicine, sharing the gospel, and more. Doctors (includes, MD, PA, NP), nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists, dentists, dental hygienists and other medical professionals to assist with the medical clinic. Translators for doctors, teachers, and other team members. The cost of this trip is $2,300 which includes airfare, lodging, meals, and more. Consider joining us for our upcoming mission trip to Kenya! While in-country, we will work with our local partners to host a medical camp for the community. Teams focus on providing support for local churches as they seek to have a credible voice in their communities. We are in need of the following team members for this trip: Volunteers to handle the administration and logistics of the camp, such as greeting patients, guiding them through the clinic, handling non-medical tasks like filling prescriptions, praying with patients, and working with children. Doctors, nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists, and other medical professionals to assist with the medical clinic. Care | Ascend Camp at the Powdersville Campus

Ascend is a week long program for students ages 5-18 who have experienced the divorce of their parents or the loss of a loved one. Students are in an age appropriate group where they will have the opportunity to discuss the common experiences associated with divorce and grief as well as learn what God says about it. Students will also learn healthy coping and just have good fun. The program runs from 10am – 2pm daily from June 19-23.
