Supporting a loved one with dementia can be difficult, but you don't have to do it alone. Grace Church and The Gardens at Eastside have partnered to offer "Understanding Dementia: Finding Joy in the Journey." The weekly meetings will help caregivers better care for their loved one by understanding the disease and learning practical strategies to cope with it. We will also share local resources available to help families dealing with dementia. This six-week class will begin on April 10 at the Pelham campus, and you may attend any or all sessions. Although we don't like to think about it, a change in health or accident can happen to any of us. And part of caring for your family well is communicating your wishes around end-of-life care ahead of time. National Healthcare Decisions Day is April 16, and we will be marking this day by hosting a Healthcare Decisions Workshop to provide resources, facilitate conversations, and process these ideas in community. The workshop will connect participants to Five Wishes—a nationally used and recognized legal document that is a valuable resource in guiding and documenting end-of-life plans.
