HB | Online | Institute: Parenting: Establishing Authority

Tuesday, April 28 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Online SC United States

When it comes to parenting, our culture is obsessed with the welfare and success of our children. We fluctuate between anxiety and control in our attempts to micromanage their lives. But what we find in Scripture is that our children are not our own, they are gifts from a faithful God who is dedicated to establishing His kingdom throughout generations. And we have been given the responsibility to raise up the next generation of godly leaders. This institute class seeks to equip parents in the process of training young children by providing a biblical parenting framework around the idea of establishing authority in young children. The class will begin Tuesday, April 28 from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Please click below for more information and to register.

God created every woman with a specific purpose—to be an ezer kenegdo, an essential counterpart. An ezer is one who comes alongside another and brings strength in the context of relationship. All women share this core calling, but how we live out our calling looks different for each woman based on her personality, gifts, strengths, perspectives, and season of life. Outreach | Online | Foster & Adopt Monthly Parent Training

Thursday, May 14 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Many of us have fostered and many of us have lost that child back to their family, into another foster home or into an adoptive home. Foster families can feel a substantial loss when a child in their care leaves - even when the foster family was ready for the child to leave. In this training, foster families and child advocates come together for one and a half hours, where we share and gain more closure, saying goodbye to the children who were in our lives for a brief time. Tara Posner will be hosting this training, and we are so glad she can offer this conversation virtually! Tara graduated from USC with a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and has been an LPC for the past 16 years. She has worked in agencies, schools and private practice. We look forward to being encouraged and equipped in facing losses through our time with her.

PL | Online | Ezer: A Woman’s Words

Wednesday, June 10 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

Words are tools. We use them to express ourselves, to communicate, and to connect with others. We use them to vent frustrations and to express joy. We use them to bless and to curse. We use words to manipulate and control and to help and encourage. We use words in ways that tear others down, and we use them in ways that build others up. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose” (MSG). Words aren’t neutral. They are productive. There is no avoiding this truth—our words will either have positive or negative ramifications. We all know the power of our words, so why do we still struggle to use them in ways that bring life rather than death?

An event every week that begins at 6:30pm on Tuesday, repeating until July 7, 2020

Pelham Campus, 2801 Pelham Rd.
Greenville, SC 29615 United States

We all experience brokenness in life. We all struggle with sin, our own, the sins of others and the effects of sin all around us. We believe that there is hope for each of us found in Christ and that God gives us steps of healing in his Word, the Bible. Re:generation is a 12-step discipleship process through recovery. By working through these biblical steps within an authentic community, people have found freedom from substance abuse, codependency, pornography, disordered eating, depression, fear, control, emotional/physical abuse, same-sex attraction, anger, obsessive thoughts, and many other personal struggles. All who are tired, broken, or hurting are invited to come find recovery in Jesus Christ. Re:gen meetings will be happening online, and in-person at our Pelham campus.

AN | Online | Men’s Roundtable: A Man & His Faith

Monday, September 21 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Not many of us believe it, but it’s true. We live from the inside out—not the outside in. That doesn’t mean the two are disconnected because they aren’t. However, our outer world doesn’t help us very much if our inner world collapses. The authors of the Bible and Jesus knew this, so it only makes sense that we should know this as well. In the newest 6-week installment of MRT, we will be looking at A Man and His Faith. We will wrestle with issues like The Fear of Man vs. The Fear of God, Anger, and what it means to Pursue God as men. Click on the link below to register.

Tuesday, November 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

As we approach a new year, we want to deepen our care and commitment for the vulnerable and marginalized in our community. One group increasingly in need of advocates are foster children, particularly teens. Join us for "Fellowship to Foster", hosted by Brenda Parks, Miracle Hill Foster Care Director. Brenda will share stories of hope through fostering, current needs across the Upstate and answers for questions you may have about foster care. Register through November 16 to receive your virtual link.
