PL | Online | Ezer: A Woman’s Words

June 10, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

Words are tools. We use them to express ourselves, to communicate, and to connect with others. We use them to vent frustrations and to express joy. We use them to bless and to curse. We use words to manipulate and control and to help and encourage. We use words in ways that tear others down, and we use them in ways that build others up. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose” (MSG). Words aren’t neutral. They are productive. There is no avoiding this truth—our words will either have positive or negative ramifications. We all know the power of our words, so why do we still struggle to use them in ways that bring life rather than death?

We all experience brokenness in life. We all struggle with sin, our own, the sins of others and the effects of sin all around us. We believe that there is hope for each of us found in Christ and that God gives us steps of healing in his Word, the Bible. Re:generation is a 12-step discipleship process through recovery. By working through these biblical steps within an authentic community, people have found freedom from substance abuse, codependency, pornography, disordered eating, depression, fear, control, emotional/physical abuse, same-sex attraction, anger, obsessive thoughts, and many other personal struggles. All who are tired, broken, or hurting are invited to come find recovery in Jesus Christ. Re:gen meetings will be happening online, and in-person at our Pelham campus.

AN | Online | Men’s Roundtable: A Man & His Faith

September 21, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Not many of us believe it, but it’s true. We live from the inside out—not the outside in. That doesn’t mean the two are disconnected because they aren’t. However, our outer world doesn’t help us very much if our inner world collapses. The authors of the Bible and Jesus knew this, so it only makes sense that we should know this as well. In the newest 6-week installment of MRT, we will be looking at A Man and His Faith. We will wrestle with issues like The Fear of Man vs. The Fear of God, Anger, and what it means to Pursue God as men. Click on the link below to register.

Care | Online | re:generation Mentor Training

Monday, March 22 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

It’s an honor to be asked to mentor a re:generation participant. It means the participant is willing to trust you with some of the deepest parts of their lives and that they see Christ already at work in your life. The most effective mentors are those who spend time on their knees for their participant, themselves, and the re:generation ministry. They serve from the overflow of joy in their hearts, trusting God to bring healing to the participant’s life and leaning on group leaders and the participant’s recovery partners for support.

PL | Online | Ezer: A Woman’s Words

Monday, March 22 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Our next study will launch virtually on Monday, March 22 at 7:30 PM.

PL | Online | Ezer: Biblical Femininity

Thursday, March 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

God created every woman with a specific purpose—to be an ezer kenegdo, an essential counterpart. An ezer is one who comes alongside another and brings strength in the context of relationship. All women share this core calling, but how we live out our calling looks different for each woman based on her personality, gifts, strengths, perspectives, and season of life. Through the Biblical Femininity study, we learn to embrace our uniqueness and live out our calling right where God has us today. Our next virtual study will launch Thursday, March 25 at 7:00 PM.

Outreach | Online | Foster & Adopt: Monthly Parent Training

Thursday, April 8 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Upstate Foster & Adoptive families are invited to join us virtually for our next monthly parent training. There are both hard and beautiful parts of parenting within transracial families! Many foster and adoptive parents are ready to receive a child into their home with open arms. But what happens next? When the child you receive is a different ethnicity than you are, there are many things to learn. We want to help bridge that learning gap for parents through this virtual training. Join Brenda and Toney Parks, as they go deeper from previous trainings to share stories, answer questions, and pass along practical advice for transracial families. Dr. Toney Parks has served for more than 25 years as Pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and as a community leader in Greenville County, while Brenda is building on nearly 40 years of experience in Child Welfare Services with her current role as the Director of Foster Care for Miracle Hill Ministries. Register through April 6 to receive the virtual meeting link on the day of this training.
