Find Help and

Encouragement

After the death of someone you love, it may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future. If you have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you have probably found that there are not many who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you have never faced before.

GriefShare

It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you have probably found there are not many who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you have never faced before. GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Each GriefShare session has three distinct elements: video seminars, group discussions, and a personal workbook.

A Grace Disguised

We all experience loss in some shape or form throughout life. And while grief is difficult to process, it is also part of how we grow in our faith. If you are in a season of dealing with loss, you are invited to join us as we explore the book, A Grace Disguised: How the Soul Grows Through Loss by Jerry Sittser. This six-week book study will provide a framework to look at loss through a biblical lens and process these ideas in community.

ascend

Ascend

Ascend is a week-long program for students ages 5–18 who have experienced the divorce of their parents or the loss of a loved one, and for children ages 6–11 who have a sibling with disabilities. Students are placed in age-appropriate groups where they will have the opportunity to discuss the common experiences associated with divorce and grief, as well as learn what God says about these hardships. Students will learn healthy coping skill but also just have good fun. The program runs from 10:00am–2:00pm daily for one week.

shift

Shift

When the “shifts” of life occur, the aftermath is unpredictable and rarely stable. Shift is a program for kids ages 11–18 who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Our hope for them is that, as they process the tragic change they've undergone, they’ll be equipped with the tools needed to build a solid foundation of faith and hope. The Shift ministry features facilitators who have experienced loss, a small group of peers who are also processing the death of a loved one, and age-appropriate lessons and activities to help the group explore their grief and God’s promises regarding comfort, healing, hope, and eternity.

kidscope

Kids Cope

When a young child experiences the death of a loved one, life can feel chaotic, confusing, and unpredictable. Kids Cope is a program aimed at helping children ages 5–10 understand their loss and navigate through the tangled ball of emotions they are encountering. The curriculum features facilitators who have experienced loss, a small group of peers who are also processing the death of a loved one, and age-appropriate lessons and activities to help them explore their grief and God’s promises regarding comfort, healing, hope, and eternity.

Serve

Each time GriefShare meets, we want our participants to experience a warm and inviting environment that eliminates participant anxiety. To do this, we offer childcare and a welcoming environment, which require volunteers. GriefShare classes meet from 6:30–8:00pm on Tuesday nights. Complete the interest form below to commit to serve during one or more upcoming GriefShare events.
