This past fall, Grace Church raised over $400,000 towards JUMPSTART’s Opportunity Center, and we are thankful for everyone who contributed to partner with JUMPSTART’s mission of gospel-driven discipleship. We believe what JUMPSTART is doing to disciple prisoners who are reentering society is a beautiful picture of how Jesus serves us.
Last week, JUMPSTART announced it received a grant from the Truist Community Catalyst Initiative—a three-year program supporting local initiatives with statewide impact funded by the Truist Charitable Fund, a donor-advised fund administered by The Winston-Salem Foundation. This grant will support a comprehensive resource hub for formerly incarcerated individuals, providing them with essential tools and support to reintegrate into the workforce and society.
Cary Sanders, JUMPSTART CEO and member of our Travelers Rest campus shared this with us:
“JUMPSTART plans to begin building the center in May 2024 and hopes to have programming operational in the center by the end of the year. If JUMPSTART meets the goals of the grant each year, Truist will continue their support with another gift in 2024 and another in 2025. This funding will enable JUMPSTART to increase its programming offering to serve more people.”
